A Little About Me

I am a small town girl from a little town in Northern Wisconsin called Ladysmith. I was born and raised their as an only child. Since I am an only child, I have grown very close to my parents and extended family. The most current addition to our small family is my English Bulldog named Tank. He was the perfect addition because I was off to college and I felt like my parents needed something to keep them busy.
Since I am from such a small town, I went to the local high school where my graduating class only had 55 students. Due to the class being so small, I was able to make several meaningful relationships with my teachers. These connections had such an impact on me that I decided I want to be like them. When I discovered this about myself, I toured many schools to find the right one. Eventually I found myself drawn to the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
When I knew UW-Stout was the school for me, I just had to decide on a major. Originally I was going to choose Family and Consumer Science Education, but I eventually chose Marketing and Business Education. I am now a sophomore in the program and I am very happy with my decision. I am excited to learn more about teaching and continue my education at UW-Stout.
When I am not at school, you can often find me working. My main job is being a teller at Connexus Credit Union. Connexus CU has blessed me with many wonderful opportunites. I was able to gain a love for business and customer service. There, I am able to meet many wonderful people and make connections in the industry. Other than working at Connexus, I am an office assistant for my program director at UW-Stout. In both of my jobs, I have learned many skills that will help me in my future career.
I created The Teacher's Circle to help out fellow teachers as they navigate throught their careers. I speak from experiecne when I say it is difficult to think of new lessons or ways to decorate my classroom every year. I hope to inspire my fellow educators and give them a break from their busy schedules.
The Teacher's Circle Goals
- Provide teachers with current and proper materials.
- Allow teachers to get creative with lesson plans, classroom decor, etc.
- Ensure teachers make time for themselves and are not always focused on school.
